Summary
We’re looking for a Technical Account Manager to own and grow HeyCharge’s largest existing DACH customers — primarily real estate asset managers, large landlords, and property operators with portfolios spanning hundreds of multi-tenant buildings. Your job is to turn an initial pilot site into a portfolio-wide rollout: dozens of buildings, hundreds of charge points, multi-year delivery plans, real revenue at scale.
This isn’t a pure relationship role and it isn’t pure technical sales — it’s where the two collapse into one. You’ll move fluently between a property manager debating Eichrecht-compliant billing, an electrician reading a building’s load plan, a Hausverwaltung committee weighing a Self-Care vs full-service operator model, and a customer’s CFO reviewing rollout economics. You’re the person who keeps the deal alive after the pilot, and the person who can credibly say what the next 12 buildings should look like.
About HeyCharge
HeyCharge makes EV charging work in places it was never supposed to — underground garages, multi-tenant buildings, and any other concrete-and-rebar environment where cellular signal goes to die. Our offline-first SecureCharge platform uses Bluetooth for local session authentication and Zigbee mesh for inter-charger load management and cloud sync. No internet required at the charger; no compromise on reliability or billing accuracy.
We’re Munich-headquartered with team members across Germany, Ukraine, and the US, selling into property managers, utilities, and OEMs across Europe, the US, and Latin America. Our partners include Vonovia (Europe’s largest residential landlord), Easee and Emobi. We’re backed by Y Combinator and EU innovation funding, with a culture that’s Google-rooted on engineering, AI-first and automation-first on operations, and allergic to bureaucracy that doesn’t earn its keep.
Responsibilities
- Account growth. Own a portfolio of HeyCharge’s largest DACH customers — primarily real estate asset managers and large multi-family operators. Expand from initial pilot sites to portfolio-wide rollouts. Set the multi-year account plan and the quarterly milestones that get us there.
- Technical consultation. Walk customers through site feasibility, load-management options, Eichrecht-compliant billing, §14a EnWG implications, and KfW/BEG funding eligibility. Read building load plans, electrical schematics, and site assessments without panicking.
- Cross-functional delivery coordination. Partner with our Projektmanager Elektromobilität (delivery), Elektromeister (installation), and engineering team to ensure customer-side dependencies are met. You’re the single throat the customer chokes when something’s off — and the single voice that goes back to them with a real plan.
- Pipeline & forecasting. Maintain an honest, portfolio-level view of which buildings are ready, which are blocked, and what’s actually going to roll out this quarter vs next. No vanity pipelines.
- Cross-sell. Surface opportunities to expand existing customers into HeyCharge Connect (retrofit), Self-Care (WEG-managed), and other product lines as they fit the customer’s portfolio mix.
Qualifications
- 5+ years in technical sales, account management, or customer success in EV charging, energy services, proptech, or B2B real estate technology. Pure inside-sales or pure account-administration backgrounds won’t fit.
- Domain knowledge in EV charging delivery — ideally in indoor environments (Tiefgaragen, Mehrparteienhäuser, Bürogebäude, Einzelhandel). You’ve sold, delivered, or operated charging infrastructure in concrete buildings, not just open parking lots.
- Comfort with technical sales conversations. You can read a load plan, discuss Eichrecht and §14a EnWG implications with a customer’s technical team, and translate between an electrician’s site notes and a CFO’s rollout model.
- DACH real estate domain. You’ve worked with or near German real estate operators — asset managers, Hausverwaltungen, WEGs, or large portfolio landlords. You know how Wohnungseigentümergemeinschaften make decisions and what an asset manager’s portfolio review looks like.
- Fluent German AND English in both written and spoken form. German is non-negotiable for this role.
- Strong organizational discipline. You can keep 30 buildings across 8 customers in your head, know which is on fire, and write the email that unblocks it.
- Comfortable working in CRMs (HubSpot at HeyCharge) and basic spreadsheet-driven pipeline modeling.
Bonus Points
- Background at an EV charging OEM, CPO, energy retailer, or property-technology vendor.
- Existing relationships at Vonovia, Deutsche Wohnen, AroundTown, LEG, ECE Group, or other major DACH operators.
- Familiarity with the German Förderung landscape — KfW 442, BEG, BAFA programs — and what makes a building eligible.
- Past experience selling into Hausverwaltungen specifically (uniquely difficult sales motion; if you’ve done it, we want to talk).
- Technical background you can fall back on (Elektrotechnik, Bauingenieurwesen, or similar) — useful when conversations get into the building’s mechanicals.
Personal Characteristics
- Ownership mentality: You take responsibility for your accounts end-to-end, and you see things through without being asked twice.
- Strategic yet hands-on: Equally comfortable presenting a 3-year portfolio rollout plan to a customer’s C-suite and chasing down a single signed building consent.
- Relationship builder: You inspire trust, build strong long-term partnerships, and represent HeyCharge with warmth and professionalism — both with customers and with the internal team that depends on you.
- Hands-on and pragmatic: You’d rather solve a problem than write a memo about it. You write the doc, you send the email, you do the site visit.
Closing
If turning a 3-building pilot into a 50-building portfolio rollout sounds like exactly the kind of problem you want to spend the next few years solving — and you’d rather know how the chargers actually work than treat them as a black box — we’d love to hear from you.
